Beaumont, TX (Sports Network) - Lamar University's football team will play six times at home in a 12-game 2013 schedule announced Monday.

The Cardinals, who were 4-8 last year, will open the season on Aug. 31 by hosting Oklahoma Panhandle State. Their other home games are against Bacone (Sept. 21) and Southland Conference opponents Central Arkansas (Oct. 19, Homecoming), Nicholls (Nov. 2), Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 16) and McNeese State (Nov. 23).

Lamar will visit two FBS opponents, Louisiana Tech (Sept. 7) and Oklahoma State (Sept. 14).

"I'm looking forward to it," Lamar coach Ray Woodard said about the two FBS games. "I think Louisiana Tech will be an exciting game. They're coming off a great year. I think Oklahoma State will be preseason top 10. I've coached up there one time before and it'll be great to take our players up there and expose them to that."
