(SportsNetwork.com) - Louisville football coach Charlie Strong is reportedly accepting the Texas job.

Strong informed Cardinals athletic director Tom Jurich of his decision on Saturday night and Texas is likely to announce his hiring on Sunday, ESPN.com reported.

Strong has spent the past four seasons in Louisville, leading the Cardinals to a 37-15 record and bowl wins in each of the last two years. Prior to taking over the Cardinals program, Strong served as defensive coordinator at Florida from 2003-09.

Mack Brown resigned after 16 seasons as Texas' coach, saying it was time for a change in what he called a football department "being pulled in different directions."
