Vermillion, SD (Sports Network) - The University of South Dakota announced a 12-game football schedule on Thursday which includes a visit to Kansas and six home games.

The Coyotes will open their season at home on Aug. 31 against UC Davis of the Big Sky Conference.

They will play four Missouri Valley Football Conference opponents at home: Missouri State (Oct. 5) on Homecoming; Indiana State (Oct. 12); Youngstown State (Nov. 2); and South Dakota State (Nov. 16).

Their other home game is against Big Sky power Montana (Nov. 9).

South Dakota's first road game will be at Kansas on Sept. 7. It will be their first meeting since 1900.
