Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - IndyCar Series driver Dario Franchitti and actress Ashley Judd have announced they are divorcing after an 11-year marriage.

In a statement released to People magazine on Tuesday night, the couple said, "We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity and respect we have always enjoyed."

Franchitti, 39, is a four-time IndyCar champion and a three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, including a victory in last year's race. He is also a former competitor in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series. Judd, 44, has starred in more than 25 films, including Double Jeopardy, Kiss the Girls and High Crimes. She most recently starred in the ABC television series Missing.

The couple was married during a private ceremony in Scotland in December 2001.

Earlier this month, Danica Patrick, a NASCAR driver and former IndyCar competitor, filed for divorce from husband Paul Hospenthal after their seven- year marriage.
