Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles reinstated oft-injured second baseman Brian Roberts from the 60-day disabled list prior to Sunday's finale of a three-game series with the New York Yankees.

Roberts, who has been limited to just 115 games over the previous three seasons due to various ailments, played in just three contests before rupturing a tendon behind his right knee in a matchup at Tampa Bay on April 4. He underwent surgery to repair the damage shortly thereafter.

The 35-year-old proclaimed himself healthy with a four-game rehab stint with Triple-A Norfolk this past week, during which Roberts went 3-for-13 with two walks and a pair of runs scored.

Roberts, a .280 lifetime hitter who stole 30 or more bases in four straight seasons from 2006-2009, had five hits in 12 at-bats to begin the 2013 campaign prior to getting hurt.

The Orioles designated pitcher Jair Jurrjens for assignment in a corresponding move.

Jurrjens, a 14-game winner for Atlanta in 2009 who recorded 13 victories for the Braves two years later, had been recalled from Norfolk prior to Saturday's game against the Yankees and threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief in Baltimore's 11-3 triumph.
