Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds have signed veteran catcher Miguel Olivo to a minor league contract, the team announced on Friday. The deal also includes an invitation to the club's spring training camp.

Olivo spent last season with the Seattle Mariners and batted .222 with 12 home runs and 29 RBI over 87 games. The 34-year-old has reached double digits in homers in each of the last seven years, including a high of 23 with Kansas City in 2009.

The Dominican native has compiled 141 homers and 479 RBI along with a .241 average over an 11-year tenure in the majors with six different teams. Olivo broke into the big leagues with the Chicago White Sox in 2002 and has also played for San Diego, the Marlins and Colorado in addition to the Mariners and Royals.
