Goodyear, AZ (Sports Network) - Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley will miss a minimum of 10 days after lacerating his left forearm in a spring training game.

Brantley sustained the injury after being spiked in the arm by Oakland's Josh Donaldson while sliding headfirst into third base during Monday's contest against the Athletics. He was immediately removed from the game and taken to a nearby hospital, where he received 10 stitches to close the wound.

The 25-year-old, projected to be the Indians' primary left fielder this year, is expected to recover in time for the start of the beginning of the season.

Brantley, who batted .288 with six home runs, 60 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 149 games with Cleveland in 2012, had gotten his spring off to a terrific start. Through the team's first three Cactus League outings, he went 5-for-6 with four doubles and two RBI.
