Denver, CO ( - The Colorado Rockies have acquired pitcher Brett Anderson and cash considerations from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for pitchers Drew Pomeranz and Chris Jensen.

A second-round pick of the A's in 2006, Anderson has appeared in 84 games with 73 starts over five seasons in Oakland, compiling a 26-29 record with a 3.81 earned run average.

The 25-year-old left-hander had Tommy John surgery in July of 2011, but bounced back to go 4-2 with a 2.57 ERA in six starts in 2012.

Anderson sustained a stress fracture in his foot last season and was limited to 16 games (five starts). He went 1-4 with a 6.04 ERA and three saves.

Pomeranz, originally selected by Cleveland with the fifth overall selection of the 2010 MLB Draft, started 22 games for the Rockies in 2012 and went 2-9 with a 4.93 ERA. He was limited to just eight games (four starts) in the majors in 2013, going 0-4 with a 6.23 ERA.

The left-hander was acquired by the Rockies as part of the trade that sent Ubaldo Jimenez to Cleveland in July of 2011.

Jensen was a sixth-round pick of the Rockies back in 2011 and has yet to appear in the big leagues. The 23-year-old went 5-8 with a 4.55 ERA in 28 starts for Class A Modesto last season.
