Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians have acquired pitcher Nick Maronde from the Los Angeles Angels for a player to be named or cash.

In 11 relief appearances with the Angels this season, Maronde had no record and a 12.79 ERA.

The 24-year-old Maronde has appeared in 33 MLB games with the Angels over the last three seasons, compiling no record and a 7.13 ERA.

The Indians also transferred designated hitter Jason Giambi to the 60-day disabled list. He was placed on the disabled list on June 12 due to left knee inflammation.
