Flushing, NY ( - The New York Mets announced Thursday that outfielder Chris Young was placed on the 15-day disabled list and activated infielder Daniel Murphy from the paternity list.

Young, who left Wednesday night's game against Washington, is dealing with a tight right quad which also caused him to miss Opening day.

Murphy also was absent on Opening Day and was placed on the paternity list Wednesday after his wife gave birth to the couple's first child.
