St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh Pirates left fielder Starling Marte left Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays with a possible head injury.
In the fifth inning, Marte tried to steal second and was caught as he slid headfirst into the base. He appeared to take a knee to the head on the play.
Marte later walked off the field under his own power and was replaced in the field by Travis Snider.
The team later announced that he has concussion-like symptoms and will be treated and evaluated.
