Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Mariners signed pitcher Jeremy Bonderman to a minor league deal with an invite to major league spring training on Friday.

Bonderman, 30, has not pitched in the majors since 2010 with the Detroit Tigers, when he posted an 8-10 record with a 5.53 earned-run average in 30 games -- 29 starts.

The Washington native played eight seasons in Detroit from 2003-2010. Over that span, he holds a 67-77 record with a 4.89 ERA, and 929 strikeouts against 404 walks.

He was a key player in the Tigers' run to the World Series in 2006, going 14-8 with a 4.08 ERA in an AL-leading 34 starts. In the postseason he made three starts, going 1-0 with a 3.10 ERA.
