St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Cardinals and relief pitcher Marc Rzepczynski agreed to terms on a contract for the 2013 season on Friday.

A 27-year-old left-hander, Rzepczynski went 1-3 with a 4.24 earned run average in 70 appearances for the Cards last season.

Acquired from Toronto just prior to the 2011 trade deadline, the Illinois native helped St. Louis win the World Series by going 1-0 in 12 postseason appearances.

In 166 games over four pro seasons, the man nicknamed "Scrabble" has gone 9-17 with a 4.04 ERA for the Blue Jays and Cardinals.

With the signing, infielder David Freese is the lone player eligible for arbitration on the Cardinals.
