Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Rays made a couple of notable moves prior to Sunday's series finale against the Oakland Athletics, with veteran outfielder Delmon Young added to the major league roster and the team reinstating designated hitter Luke Scott from the 15-day disabled list.

Young, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2003 draft by the Rays who spent his first two big league seasons with Tampa Bay, had his contract selected from Double-A Montgomery as rosters expanded on Sunday. He re-joined the organization on Aug. 22, eight days after being released by the Philadelphia Phillies.

The 27-year-old Young, who is expected to serve as a DH against left-handed pitching during the pennant drive, batted .261 with eight homers and 31 RBI in 80 games with the Phils.

Scott had been sidelined since Aug. 18 with back spasms, though he was not in Sunday's lineup. The left-handed hitter was batting .249 with nine homers and 39 RBI prior to the injury.

The Rays also added two more players, reliever Josh Lueke and catcher Chris Gimenez. Both were recalled from Triple-A Durham.
