St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays have agreed to a two-year contract with outfielder David DeJesus.

The Rays made the announcement on their Twitter feed on Wednesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Tampa Bay Times is reporting that DeJesus will receive $4.5 million in 2014, $5 million in 2015 and a $250,000 signing bonus. The deal also includes a 2016 option for $5 million or a $1 million buyout, according to the paper.

The Rays had picked up a contract option worth $6.5 million on DeJesus on Sunday with DeJesus tweeting at the time, "So excited to be a Ray again!!!"

The new deal saves Tampa money this year, but gives DeJesus a little longer security.

DeJesus played for the Cubs, Nationals and Rays in 2013, hitting a combined .251 with eight homers and 38 RBI. He scored 52 runs and had a .327 on-base percentage in 122 games.

In 35 games with the Rays, he hit .260 with two homers and 11 RBI.

Over his 11-year career, DeJesus has hit .279 with 88 homers and 524 RBI.
