Recap: Miami vs. Boston

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - David Ortiz collected two hits, including a home run, with three RBI as Boston routed Miami, 10-2, in the rubber match of a three-game interleague set.

Adrian Gonzalez added three hits and drove in a pair for the Red Sox, who took the final two games in the series to erase a four-game losing skid. Nick Punto went 2-for-2 and knocked in two for the victors, while Dustin Pedroia and Scott Podsednik each had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.

Felix Doubront (7-3) worked seven innings for the win, allowing three hits and two runs while fanning nine. The left-hander held the hosts hitless into the sixth inning.

"Felix was outstanding. He had all of his arsenal tonight," said Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine. "Explosive fastball, curveball was thrown for strikes early and late...that was just good pitching."

Jose Reyes homered and Justin Ruggiano knocked in the other run for the Marlins, losers in eight of their last nine.

Ricky Nolasco (6-5) was charged in defeat for five hits and four runs -- three earned -- over six full frames.

Doubront failed to allow a hit through the first 5 2/3 innings until Reyes launched a ball deep into the left-field seats. In the Miami seventh, Hanley Ramirez singled and Giancarlo Stanton doubled to start the frame, then Ramirez came in on a Ruggiano fielder's choice grounder to make it 4-2.

Boston stole back the momentum in the eighth with six runs on RBI singles from Pedroia, Gonzalez and Ortiz, a two-run pinch-hit single by Punto along with a Jarrod Saltalamacchia sacrifice fly.

After Doubront exited, Vicente Padilla, Andrew Miller and Matt Albers combined to allow one hit and two walks over the final two innings.

"We're very bad...very bad, I will not deny it," said Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen. "No sense in getting down about it. We're not playing well, so they came out and kicked our butt."

The Sox picked up a run in the third as Mike Aviles singled, moved to second on a Doubront sacrifice and scored on a Podsednik base hit.

It was 2-0 in the fourth on a one-out solo shot from Ortiz, then 4-0 in the sixth as Gonzalez singled home Podsednik and an Ortiz fly to center brought in Pedroia.

Game Notes

Boston improved to 17-10 against the Marlins all-time, including an 8-4 mark in south Florida...Doubront has won three of his last four starts...Nolasco had dropped five of his last seven outings...The Red Sox hit the double-digit mark in runs for the 10th time this season and first since May 13.
