Recap: Milwaukee vs. Philadelphia

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Kyle Kendrick tossed his second straight scoreless outing and Domonic Brown collected three hits with four RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-0, in the finale of a four-game set.

Kendrick (6-9) scattered three hits and walked one while striking out seven over eight innings, helping him win consecutive starts for the first time since May 26-June 1.

"He did a good job. He got (Ryan) Braun out and he gets a medal for that," said Phillies manager Charlie Manuel of Kendrick. "That's the most pitches he's had this year. He's more confident when he's aggressive."

Michael Martinez hit a two-run homer and Brian Schneider added a two-run double for the Phillies, who earned a split in the series with two straight wins.

Randy Wolf (3-10) was torched for 10 hits and five runs over seven full frames for the Brewers, losers in five of their last seven.

"He did pitch well after the third, that's encouraging," said Brewers manager Ron Roenicke of his starter. "But now we have to keep the runs down in the beginning of the game and get our offense a chance to get a lead."

Michael Schwimer made things interesting in the ninth, loading the bases with one out on a ground-rule double from Ryan Braun, an infield hit by Jonathan Lucroy, then hitting Travis Ishikawa on the foot.

But the righty recovered to strike out Carlos Gomez and Cody Ransom in turn to preserve Philly's 10th shutout of the campaign.

Kendrick escaped trouble in the first. Nyjer Morgan led off with a triple but was erased on a Rickie Weeks grounder to the mound which caused him to be caught in a rundown. Weeks stole second, but went no further as Braun fanned and Lucroy grounded out.

In the second, Brown walked with one out and Martinez followed with a homer to left-center field to give the visitors a 2-0 edge.

After singles by Kevin Frandsen and Ryan Howard, plus a Ty Wigginton walk, Brown cleared the bases with a one-out double to make it 5-0. Brown was then thrown out trying to score on a Martinez base hit.

Schneider's double off the top of the wall in right-center field plated two more Phillies in the eighth, and Brown singled home John Mayberry in the ninth for an 8-0 score.
