Recap: Baltimore vs. Chicago WSox

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Chris Tillman tossed seven scoreless innings on Tuesday and the Baltimore Orioles blanked the Chicago White Sox, 6-0, in the second test of a four-game series at Camden Yards.

Tillman (7-2) allowed just one hit and fanned five while walking four to pick up his second straight win. Brian Matusz gave up one hit over the final two innings.

"Every game is big," Tillman said. "To score those runs off the kind of pitcher they had out there tonight was impressive."

Nick Markakis banged a three-run double, while Adam Jones hit his 100th career home run. Lew Ford also homered in the Orioles' fourth consecutive victory, as they remained 3 1/2 games behind the first-place New York Yankees in the AL East.

Chris Sale (15-5) was knocked around for four runs on six hits and three walks in just four innings, as the AL Central leaders lost for the second straight night on the heels of a six-game winning streak.

Baltimore opened the scoring in the second inning with three two-out runs. Nate McLouth started the rally with a base hit, stole second, and made it to third on a throwing error by A.J. Pierzynski. Manny Machado and Robert Andino walked to load the bags before Markakis stroked a double into the right-center field gap.

Ford gave the O's a 4-0 lead in the third after he went down and got a fastball below the knees from Sale, driving it over the wall in left for his second homer in as many nights.

"You never want to come out of the game in the fourth," Sale said. "But I was just bad, I really had no other choice I guess. I just didn't have it tonight. I didn't bring it. It was a disgrace honestly."

Dayan Viciedo singled leading off the Chicago fifth for the team's first hit of the game and Alexei Ramirez walked, but Tillman battled back to retire the next three hitters.

Mark Reynolds singled with one out in the Baltimore sixth and went first-to- third on a base hit by McLouth before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Machado.

Jones put an exclamation point on the game in the seventh when he cracked a fastball from Philip Humber just over the scoreboard in right field for his 25th home run of the season. The shot also snapped a 110-at-bat homerless drought.
