Recap: NY Yankees vs. Chicago WSox

Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Curtis Granderson, Dewayne Wise and Robinson Cano each hit solo homers to back seven scoreless innings from Hiroki Kuroda, as the New York Yankees handled the Chicago White Sox, 4-0, in the third installment of a four-game series.

Kuroda (8-7) gave up three hits while striking out 11 and walking one for the Yankees, who went 20-7 in June. For the second time since 2004, New York won 20 or more games in a calendar month (21-7 in August 2009).

"I think I've been really aggressive lately," said Kuroda. "Earlier in the season, I was facing a lot of hitters that I hadn't faced before, so I tried to be careful to hit those corners and I got behind in the count many times. Now, I try to be as aggressive as possible."

Wise went 3-for-3 with two RBI for the Yankees, who had lost the first two games of the series.

White Sox starter Jake Peavy (6-5) allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out 11 over eight innings.

"We've got to score for him (Peavy) to have a chance," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said.

Chicago, which had just three hits, had a four-game winning streak snapped.

The White Sox put men on the corners in the first following Adam Dunn's walk and Paul Konerko's single. But with two outs in the inning, Alex Rios struck out swinging.

Kuroda settled down and retired 15 straight batters before hitting Kevin Youkilis with a pitch in the sixth. Youkilis moved to second on a wild pitch, but Dunn went down looking to end the inning.

Granderson, Wise and Cano homered in the first, fifth and sixth, respectively, to support Kuroda's solid outing. All three home runs landed in the second deck in right.

Wise added an RBI double in the second. Nick Swisher led off with a single and reached home on Wise's two-out double to right-center field.

David Robertson tossed a perfect eighth and Boone Logan and Rafael Soriano combined to pitch a scoreless ninth.
