Recap: Miami vs. Philadelphia

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Carlos Ruiz had two hits and two RBI and Chase Utley knocked in three and scored twice to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-5 win over the Miami Marlins on Saturday.

Pete Orr had a pair of RBI and Jimmy Rollins had three hits and scored three times for the Phillies, who snapped a three-game skid.

Roy Halladay (11-8) gave up four runs on six hits and struck out seven over five innings.

Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI and Rob Brantly drove in a run for the Marlins, who have dropped eight of nine and 10 of their last 12.

Ricky Nolasco (12-13) allowed five runs on nine hits and struck out four over five innings to absorb the loss.

"They just flat out had grind-it-out at-bats," Nolasco said of the Phillies. "They did a great job at the plate."

The Marlins took a 3-0 lead in the first. Stanton's two-run single scored Bryan Petersen and Donovan Solano, and Jose Reyes came around on Brantly's base hit to right field.

"The first inning was obviously sloppy," Halladay said. "After that it got better. We scored runs and got a win out of it."

Orr doubled home Domonic Brown and Nate Schierholtz in the second inning to pull Philadelphia within 3-2.

Stanton's solo shot in the third inning extended the Marlins spread to 4-2, but the Phillies scored three in the fifth to take the lead.

Utley singled to center to knock in Halladay and Rollins before coming around on Brown's triple to right-center field that put Philadelphia ahead by a 5-4 score.

Ruiz doubled home Rollins and Utley in the seventh and Utley plated Rollins with a two-out single in the eighth to put the visitors up 8-4.

Gil Velazquez knocked in Stanton with a base hit to left in the home eighth for Florida's final run, while Philadelphia's Darin Ruf scored on Kevin Frandsen's RBI single in the ninth to cap the scoring.
