Recap: Chicago Cubs vs. Oakland

Mesa, AZ (Sports Network) - Brandon Allen hit a grand slam and drove in the game-winning run in the ninth inning as Oakland took a 12-10 win over the Chicago Cubs in Cactus League play.

Allen finished the game 2-for-5 with seven RBI and two runs scored while Josh Reddick added an RBI and two runs scored for the Athletics. Brandon McCarthy was touched for three runs -- two earned -- and four hits over three innings.

Adrian Cardenas hit a three-run triple as part of a five-run sixth innings for the Cubs, while Darwin Barney drove in two in the loss. Rodrigo Lopez pitched two perfect innings in the start.
