Eric Chavez and Brandon Laird also knocked in a run each for New York, while starter Hiroki Kuroda allowed six hits and one run over 5 2/3 innings for the win.

Vance Worley fanned seven in the loss, charged with seven hits and three runs over six full frames.

Erik Kratz hit a solo homer for the Phillies.
