Recap: Kansas City vs. San Francisco

Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - Gregor Blanco knocked in the eventual winning run in the third inning with an RBI single as the San Francisco Giants edged the Kansas City Royals, 2-1 in spring training action on Monday.

Conor Gillaspie smashed a solo home run and Tim Lincecum gave up one run and one hit in four innings of work on the mound for San Francisco.

Alcides Escobar brought home the lone Royals run with an RBI groundout and Luke Hochevar gave up two runs on four hits in three innings for the Royals.

Smith replaces Larson for Martinsville race

Regan Smith substituted for Kyle Larson in the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet in Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway after Larson was sidelined due to additional medical tests following his fainting spell on Saturday.
