Recap: San Francisco vs. LA Angels

Scottsdale, AZ (Sports Network) - Alexi Amarista's three-run triple in the top of the ninth inning helped the Angels take a 5-3 victory over the Giants in spring training.

Bobby Wilson knocked in the other two runs for Los Angeles, which received a six-inning start from Brad Mills in which he allowed two runs on four hits and two walks.

The Giants loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth before Brett Pill's sacrifice fly brought home Joe Panik and put the tying run in scoring position, but Angel Pagan went down looking at three straight strikes to end San Francisco's comeback bid.

Starter Tim Lincecum allowed two runs on five hits and two walks with a pair of strikeouts for the Giants.

2015 PREVIEW NL EAST: It's the Nationals and everybody else

There isn't much after that. The Miami Marlins are loaded up for a playoff push -- likely through a wild card spot -- and the New York Mets are up-and- coming but still raw. The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, former powerhouses of the division, are going through rebuilds and won't contend anytime soon.
