Recap: Arizona vs. Chicago Cubs

Scottsdale, AZ (Sports Network) - Paul Goldschmidt's solo home run in the fourth inning proved to be the difference as the Diamondbacks held on for a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs in spring training action on Monday.

Justin Upton finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, while Jesus Montero added two hits and an RBI for the Diamondbacks. Ian Kennedy went seven innings in the start, allowing one run on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Micah Gibbs and Ian Stewart each knocked in a run and Blake DeWitt tallied two hits and a run scored for the Cubs. Jay Jackson yielded three runs on seven hits over four innings of work in the loss.
