Recap: LA Angels vs. Milwaukee

Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Jered Weaver threw four strong innings and Vernon Wells had a pair of hits and two RBI, as the Angels roughed up Milwaukee, 8-1, in Cactus League play.

Weaver surrendered just two hits and a run, walked a batter and struck out four to get his first win this spring.

Jonathan Lucroy singled in Mat Gamel in the top of the second to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead, but Wells stroked a two-run double in the bottom half and then scored on Mark Trumbo's sacrifice fly.

Carlos Ramirez, Alexi Amarista and Kole Calhoun each had RBIs in the eighth inning as part of LA's 12-hit attack.

Michael Fiers was charged with three hits and as many runs over three innings in the start for the Brewers.

2015 PREVIEW NL EAST: It's the Nationals and everybody else

There isn't much after that. The Miami Marlins are loaded up for a playoff push -- likely through a wild card spot -- and the New York Mets are up-and- coming but still raw. The Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, former powerhouses of the division, are going through rebuilds and won't contend anytime soon.
