Recap: Seattle vs. Chicago Cubs

Peoria, AZ (Sports Network) - David DeJesus went 2-for-3, drove in two runs and scored another, and the Cubs belted out 18 hits en route to a 12-7 spring- training win over the Mariners.

Joe Mather also had two RBI, while Darwin Barney, Alfredo Amezaga, Blake Lalli and Welington Castillo each recorded two hits in the victory.

Both starters were touched for seven runs, with Chicago's Travis Wood lasting just two-plus innings while his counterpart, Jason Vargas, didn't make it out of the first.

Ichiro Suzuki and Jesus Montero each belted two-run homers in defeat.
