Recap: Seattle vs. San Diego

Peoria, AZ (Sports Network) - Kevin Millwood struck out eight batters and gave up just one run in seven innings Saturday, leading the Seattle Mariners to a 6-1 win over the San Diego Padres in spring training.

Daniel Carroll and John Hicks hit solo homers and Rich Poythress had three hits for the Mariners, who banged out 12 as a team.

Padres starter Joe Wieland allowed two runs on five hits while striking out five in five innings to take the loss while Andy Parrino belted a solo home run.

Bill Elliott, a former Sprint Cup Series champion, and Wendell Scott, the first African-American to win a race in NASCAR's premier racing circuit, were among the sixth five-member class inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Friday night.
