Sarasota, FL (Sports Network) - Xavier Avery's eighth-inning sacrifice fly was the difference as Baltimore nipped Atlanta, 2-1, in Grapefruit League action.

Caleb Joseph doubled and scored the winning run for the Orioles, while Jai Miller finished 2-for-3 and knocked in the other run.

Miguel Socolovich tossed a scoreless eighth for the victory.

Eric Hinske's seventh-inning homer was the sole offense for the Braves. J.J. Hoover was charged with the deciding run in his one relief frame.
