Recap: Detroit vs. Baltimore

Lakeland, FL (Sports Network) - Danny Worth finished 2-for-2 as his RBI single in the seventh helped Detroit to a 4-2 decision over Baltimore in spring training action on Thursday.

Gerald Laird knocked in two runs with a single in the sixth and the Tigers added another run on an error later in the inning to take the lead. Justin Verlander struck out eight in 3 2/3 innings of one-run ball as the starter.

Endy Chavez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and Chris Davis added an RBI double in the sixth to cap the scoring for the Orioles. Brian Matusz looked good in his start, sitting down six and allowing just two hits in four innings on the bump.
