Recap: NY Yankees vs. Detroit

Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Michael Pineda went five innings in the start for New York as the Yankees and Detroit Tigers played to a 1-1 spring training contest.

Pineda gave up just one run on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts for the Yankees. Derek Jeter's leadoff home run in the first inning accounted for the only run for New York.

Ramon Santiago tied the game with an RBI triple in the third inning for the Tigers. Duane Below gave up a run on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings.

Orioles' Matusz ejected for substance on arm

Baltimore Orioles reliever Brian Matusz became the second major league pitcher in three days to be ejected from a game for having a foreign substance on his arm.

Hawks' Korver out for postseason

If the Atlanta Hawks are going to erase a 2-0 deficit in their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they will have to do it without one of the NBA's best shooters.
