Joe Benson added two hits and drove in the other run for the Twins, while starter Liam Hendriks worked three hitless innings with four strikeouts for the win.

Pedro Ciriaco doubled and scored on a Kevin Youkilis fourth-inning single for the Red Sox.

Jon Lester took the loss, charged with five hits and two runs over four full frames.
