Port Charlotte, FL (Sports Network) - Josh Kroeger had a solo home run and two RBI as the Boston Red Sox downed the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-4, on Sunday.

Cody Ross also had a solo shot for the Red Sox, while Clay Buchholz allowed one run on four hits in a five-inning start.

Evan Longoria went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and Matt Moore was touched for four runs on two hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings for Tampa Bay to absorb the loss.
