Fort Myers, FL (Sports Network) - Cody Ross hit a three-run homer in the second inning, as Boston lit up Tampa Bay, 8-0, in Grapefruit League play.

Dustin Pedroia and Mauro Gomez each drove in a pair of runs for the Red Sox.

Josh Beckett tossed five innings of one-hit ball, fanning five and walking three, for the win.

Joel Peralta was charged in the loss for three runs on two hits, all surrendered in the second inning.
