Recap: St. Louis vs. NY Mets

Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - Jon Jay's RBI single in the ninth inning lifted the Cardinals to a 2-1 win over the Mets in spring training action.

Andron Chambers scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning and Lance Berkman batted in the other run for St. Louis. Jake Westbrook pitched six scoreless innings, giving up three hits while striking out three and walking none in the start.

Johan Santana struck out six batters, but gave up a run on six hits in a six - inning start. Jordany Valdespin hit a solo home run in defeat.
