Port St. Lucie, FL (Sports Network) - Jordan Zimmermann tossed six scoreless innings and Jayson Werth homered to lift the Washington Nationals to a 3-2 win over the New York Mets.

Zimmermann scattered two hits and struck out two batters while walking none.

Washington's Ian Desmond went 4-for-4 and scored a run.

Daniel Murphy and Lucas Duda both knocked in a run for the Mets. New York starter Jon Niese gave up two runs on five hits with a walk and six strikeouts over six full frames.
