Recap: Washington vs. St. Louis

Viera, FL (Sports Network) - Ryan Zimmerman crushed a solo home run and added a double as the Washington Nationals beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-4, in Grapefruit League action.

Jesus Flores blasted a solo shot, while Michael Morse, Corey Brown and Ian Desmond all knocked in runs. Jordan Zimmermann got the start for the Nationals and was tagged for four runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

David Freese hit a three-run homer and Oscar Taveras drove home a run for the Cardinals. Shelby Miller started for St. Louis and gave up three runs on four hits in 2 1/3 innings of work.
