Recap: Kansas City vs. Cincinnati

Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - Alex Gordon and Lorenzo Cain both hit solo home runs to lift the Kansas City Royals to a 7-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds in Cactus League action.

Johnny Giavotella and Eric Hosmer drove in two runs apiece for the Royals. Jonathan Sanchez was tagged for four runs on three hits with two walks over two innings while Everett Teaford pitched three scoreless innings for the win.

Jay Bruce went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI in the loss for the Reds. Mike Leake gave up eight hits and four runs over three innings in the start while Nick Christiani was charged with the loss for giving up a run in the fourth inning.

Dorm Report: West Virginia goes wild, not so wonderful

There was quite a bit of hitting on the field at Milan Puskar Stadium last weekend, but almost as much action took place in the streets just outside in the hours following West Virginia's upset of visiting Baylor.

The St. Louis Blues placed center Paul Stastny on injured reserve Friday and recalled forward Dmitrij Jaskin from Chicago of the American Hockey League.
