Recap: San Diego vs. Kansas City

Peoria, AZ (Sports Network) - Yonder Alonso hit three-run double in the first inning and the Padres downed the Royals, 8-5, in Saturday's spring training matchup.

Jonathan Galvez added a two-run homer in the first while Jedd Gyorko, Jaff Decker and Brad Davis ahad an RBI apiece in the eighth for Kansas City. Cory Luebke started for the Padres and allowed two runs on six hits while striking out four in as many innings.

Max Ramirez went 2-for-2 with and RBI while Derrick Robinson, Eric Hosmer, Billy Butler and Johnny Giavotella all knocked in a run for Kansas City, which saw starter Bruce Chen allow five runs on eight hits over three innings.
