Recap: Chicago Cubs vs. San Diego

Mesa, AZ (Sports Network) - Will Venable ripped a two-run double and the San Diego Padres topped the Chicago Cubs, 5-1, in Cactus League action on Saturday.

Jonathan Galvez and Nathan Freiman drove home runs for the Padres and starter Anthony Bass went four innings while giving up just one run and one hit for the win.

Darwin Barney knocked in the lone run for the Cubs and starter Travis Wood yielded three runs on five hits over 3 2/3 innings.
