Recap: Washington vs. Georgetown

Viera, FL (Sports Network) - Brett Carroll, Zach Walters and Sandy Leon all had an RBI in the Nationals' 3-0 exhibition win over Georgetown University on Friday.

Matt Purke allowed one hit and struck out three over three innings while Rafael Martin and Waldis Joaquin each followed with two frames of one-hit ball for the Nationals, who went 80-81 last season, good for third place in the National League East.

Austin Bibens-Dirkx and Jeff Fulchino each tossed an inning to wrap up the shutout.

Will Harris, James Heine and Billy Cosmopulos all surrendered a run for Georgetown, which finished with just four hits and struck out 14 times.

James Madison has opted out of a scheduled game at Liberty on Sept. 26 to play FBS opponent SMU, but the two FCS programs have agreed to seek future scheduling opportunities.
