Recap: Baltimore vs. Toronto

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Adam Jones and J.J. Hardy each hit a three- run home run to help the Baltimore Orioles take an 8-5 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in the opener of a three-game set from Camden Yards.

Chris Davis hit his MLB-leading 35th homer of the year, a two-run shot in the second inning, to help the Orioles to their third straight win. Chris Tillman (11-3) pitched six innings to get the win as he gave up three runs on eight hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

"We did some good things out there tonight," said Orioles manager Buck Showalter. "The guys really made some good contact with the ball and there were some solid plays in the field."

J.P. Arencibia hit a two-run home run, Edwin Encarnacion added a solo shot and Adam Lind hit a two-run double for the Blue Jays, who have lost three of four. Mark Buehrle (5-6) gave up all eight runs on nine hits over six innings to take the loss.

Toronto went on top in the second inning as Colby Rasmus doubled and Arencibia later homered for a 2-0 lead, but Davis got the runs back in the bottom of the frame on a blast to left, which followed Jones' leadoff double.

In the third, the Blue Jays went back up with Encarnacion's 24th homer of the year for a 3-2 advantage, but a ball went out of the park again in the home third.

With two outs, Manny Machado kept the inning alive with an infield single and Nick Markakis followed with a base hit. Jones then blasted a shot over the wall in left for his 17th homer and a 5-3 lead.

The score stayed that way until the sixth when Baltimore added three more. Jones and Davis singled to start the inning and Matt Wieters popped out. Hardy, though, delivered with a shot to left for his 16th homer of the year and an 8-3 lead.

Lind ripped a two-run double down the first base line off Tommy Hunter in the ninth, but Jim Johnson came on and threw one pitch, getting Rasmus to groundout for his 32nd save of the season.
