Recap: Oakland vs. Toronto

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Jose Bautista's RBI double in the top of the 10th inning was the difference, as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Oakland Athletics, 5-2, in the rubber match of a three-game set at O.co Coliseum.

Jose Reyes singled off the glove of Jesse Chavez (2-3) to start the frame. A passed ball put Reyes on second before Bautista sliced a one-out cutter just fair down the right-field line to plate Reyes. Two walks loaded the bases and Colby Rasmus delivered a base hit through the right side off Jerry Blevins to extend the lead to 5-2.

Casey Janssen (4-0) pitched a perfect ninth to earn the win for the Blue Jays, winners in three of their last four contests.

"I thought we played a good game," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "Our pitching was very good again and a lot of times that equals a win."

Eric Sogard scored both runs for the A's, who have lost two in a row after winning their previous four.

R.A. Dickey had an effective outing, pitching six innings and allowing two unearned runs on six hits and a walk.

Bartolo Colon wasn't as sharp as he has been, but he kept his team in the game. He was charged with two runs -- one earned -- on seven hits and three walks over six frames.

The A's scored a quick run in the third to take an early lead. Sogard had a two-out base hit to left and Jed Lowrie singled the next pitch to right. Bautista, who had no shot at Sogard at third, threw over third baseman Brett Lawrie's head, and the ball took one hop into the seats to allow Sogard to score.

Colon recorded two straight outs after allowing back-to-back singles to start the fourth, but Lawrie knocked a single up the middle to tie the game at 1-1. After Reyes walked to load the bases, catcher Stephen Vogt was charged with a passed ball when he set up outside and Colon threw a fastball inside that should have been caught but went off Vogt's glove to allow a run to score.

Dickey loaded the bases to start the bottom of the fourth but escaped unscathed when he recorded two infield pop outs and a flyout to end the frame.

Two Toronto errors in the fifth helped Oakland tie the game at 2-2. On a Sogard pop up behind the mound to start the frame, Dickey tumbled backwards and knocked down Lawrie, who was about to make the catch. Two hitters later, Maicer Izturis was blinded by the sun on a Brandon Moss two-out pop up and allowed the ball to drop to score Sogard.

"There were points in the game where they were almost trying to give us the game, and we weren't able to take advantage of it," A's third baseman Josh Donaldson said. "You just go out there the next time you step out there on the field and if there's guys in scoring position, we got to get them across."
