Recap: Philadelphia vs. Miami

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Cole Hamels hurled seven innings of one- run ball to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 6-1 win over the Miami Marlins to complete a three-game sweep at Citizens Bank Park.

After going 0-6 with a 4.95 earned run average over six starts in May, Hamels (2-9) finally turned things around to earn his first win since April 28. He scattered four hits and struck out a season-high 11 batters in his best outing of the year.

Domonic Brown hit a two-run homer and Ryan Howard tripled and drove in a pair for the Phillies, who have won a season-high four straight games.

The Phillies reached .500 (30-30) for the first time since they were 6-6 on April 14.

"I think getting back to .500 is key just to start over," Hamels said. "Winning series, if you're able to do that in the ultimate long run you're going to have a winning record and you're going to be near the top of your division. We accomplished a good goal."

Derek Dietrich accounted for the Marlins' lone run with a homer.

A.J. Ramos (0-2) absorbed the loss after getting knocked around during a five- run seventh for Philadelphia.

"He was aggressive in the strike zone, I thought he had solid movement," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said of starter Jacob Turner, who allowed four hits and a run over six innings. "He pounded the strike zone and held a good lineup in check. It was a good game for six innings."

Jimmy Rollins broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI single in the seventh, triggering a five-run rally all with two outs. With Cesar Hernandez and Ben Revere on first and second, Rollins dropped a single into center field to score Hernandez, then stole second to put two in scoring position.

Howard followed with a bases-clearing triple past a diving Marcell Ozuna in right and Brown capped the five-run frame with a solo shot to right field. It was his NL-leading 18th homer of the season and provided the hosts with a five-run edge.

Justin De Fratus and Michael Stutes followed Hamels with a scoreless inning apiece to lock down the victory.

Erik Kratz got the Phils on the board in second. Mayberry singled then scored as the Phils' catcher roped a double into the corner in left field.

Dietrich tied things up in the fourth after crushing a solo homer right field.

Game Notes

Home plate umpire John Hirschbeck left the game in the seventh inning after he was hit on the hand with a pitch ... Revere and Rollins each stole a base ... The Marlins have dropped three straight and 12 of their last 15 games overall.
