Recap: Chicago WSox vs. Minnesota

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Chris Colabello helped spark a three-run second inning for the Minnesota Twins, who defeated the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, in the finale of a three-game set.

Colabello, Eric Fryer and Brian Dozier all drove in runs with singles in the second to help the Twins snap a two-game losing streak and a five-game skid to the White Sox.

Scott Diamond (6-11) earned the win after allowing three runs on five hits across 6 1/3 innings. It was the left-hander's first victory since June 20.

"I think that going down to Rochester was kind of a reset for me. I feel like I'm just building off of that a little bit. Personally, it hasn't been that long for me since a win. Up here, its been awhile. I'm hoping to finish up the season strong," said Diamond after his second start since being recalled.

The Minnesota bullpen only allowed one hit the rest of the way, with Glen Perkins picking up his 36th save of the season after throwing a perfect ninth.

Chicago starter John Danks (4-14) lost his fourth outing in a row. He was reached for four runs on seven hits over seven innings, though he settled in after a rough first two frames to retire the last 16 batters he faced.

"There are some things that I did today that were good, obviously the first two innings weren't. I think that I probably got more groundballs today than I had all year," said Danks on his outing.

Alejandro De Aza homered for Chicago in the fourth inning, while Jordan Danks drove in two runs with a single in the seventh for the White Sox, who have only won two of their last nine.

Minnesota's Alex Presley dropped a liner into left for a single to lead off the game, and advanced two bases on a groundout from Dozier and a flyout from Trevor Plouffe. Oswaldo Arcia then stroked a grounder into right field for a single that plated Presley.

Ryan Doumit led off the top of the second with a double into right-center field, and Colabello singled up the middle to bring him home. Clete Thomas popped out before Eduardo Escobar reached second on a grounder that tricked down the left-field line for a double. Fryer then stroked a line-drive single to center to score Colabello and move Escobar over to third, and Dozier kept the rally going with a line drive into center that brought home Escobar.

De Aza lifted a fastball over the right-field wall and into the Twins' bullpen in the fourth to cut Minnesota's lead down to three.

Diamond ran into trouble in the seventh. After giving up a walk to Paul Konerko to start off the inning, the lefty got Adam Dunn to fly out to center. Marcus Semien then doubled on a line drive to right before Danks brought in two runs and chased Diamond out of the game with a grounder that eluded a diving Dozier and into the left-field gap.

Casey Fien entered in relief and recorded the last two outs of the inning.

Game Notes

Minnesota went 4-for-8 with runners in scoring position, while Chicago went 1- for-4 ... Chicago has lost 16 of their last 20 games ... Diamond has four wins in his last five starts against the White Sox.
