Recap: Colorado vs. San Diego

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Nick Hundley and Jedd Gyorko homered, and Will Venable went 3-for-5 with two RBI to power the San Diego Padres to a 7-5 win over the Colorado Rockies.

Alexi Amarista had two hits and drove in a run for the Padres, who had lost five of their previous six games.

Eric Stults gave up 11 hits and five runs over 4 2/3 innings in the start for San Diego. Tim Stauffer (2-1) worked 1 1/3 frames for the win and Huston Street recorded the final four outs for his 23rd save.

Wilin Rosario and Charlie Culberson each had two RBI for the Rockies, who had a four-game winning streak broken.

Jeff Manship (0-2), making his second start of the season, yielded eight hits and six runs in five frames.

"I really wasn't making adjustments either," Manship said. "I was flying open, which really leads to bad pitches."

Yonder Alonso singled in Venable in the first inning, but the Rockies scored four in the bottom half, highlighted by Rosario's two-run single. Todd Helton and Culberson also had RBI base hits.

"We could have easily packed it in when they scored four in the first," Gyorko said. "We fought back."

The Padres countered with four in the second. Hundley homered to left with Jaff Decker aboard. Venable tripled in Stults and then scored on Amarista's single to center.

Gyorko led off the third with his second homer in as many nights for a 6-4 lead.

The Rockies fill the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the third, but Manship grounded into a double play to end the inning.

Culberson's sacrifice fly plated a run in the fifth, but the Padres got that run back in the sixth when Venable's single scored Ronny Cedeno.

Colorado pinch-hitter Corey Dickerson tripled in the home eighth, but Street retired Dexter Fowler on a grounder to end the inning.

Game Notes

Venable has a 10-game hitting streak ... The Rockies are 11-4 against the Padres this season ... Rockies rookie third baseman Nolan Arenado went 2-for-4 and is now hitting .432 during a 10-game hitting streak.
