Recap: San Francisco vs. Philadelphia

San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Kyle Kendrick scattered six hits over seven innings to guide the Philadelphia Phillies to a 6-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

Kendrick (4-1) allowed two runs and struck out six batters without issuing a walk.

Chase Utley went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Howard homered and drove in a pair and Jimmy Rollins and Michael Young added an RBI apiece for the Phillies, who have won two straight games.

"We're getting guys over, we're putting bunts down," Utley said of his team's offense. "We're definitely doing the little things right now which is big, especially against a team like this."

Marco Scutaro went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and Angel Pagan knocked in a run for the Giants, who have dropped back-to-back games following a six-game winning streak.

Tim Lincecum (2-2) was tagged for five runs on nine hits and three walks to absorb the loss.

"He was real good at times and other times he just made some mistakes," San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy said of Lincecum. "He had good stuff tonight, but along with that, he had trouble commanding the fastball at times."

The Phillies wasted no time and pushed a run across in the first. Utley singled then moved to second on a Lincecum throwing error. After Young walked, Howard singled to right field to score Utley.

Philadelphia added two more in the second. Laynce Nix scored on a Rollins ground out and Utley followed with a single to center to score Ben Revere.

San Francisco pulled within 3-2 in the third inning. With runners at second and third with one out, Pagan lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Brandon Belt. Scutaro followed with a double down the line in left to score Brandon Crawford.

Utley opened the fifth with a solo homer to put the Phillies up 4-2, and Young scored Rollins with a double to right to give the visitors a three-run cushion in the seventh.

Howard's blast in the ninth accounted for the final difference.
