Recap: Oakland vs. San Francisco

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Derek Norris hit a two-run homer and Adam Rosales added a solo shot to back a quality start by Jarrod Parker as the Oakland Athletics took down the San Francisco Giants, 6-3, en route to their fifth straight win.

Parker (3-6) limited the Giants to two runs on five hits over seven strong innings, while Jed Lowrie went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the victory.

"The starting pitcher was terrific, the bullpen came in and did the job and we got key hits," said Oakland manager Bob Melvin.

The A's have won 10 of their last 11, including both games of this interleague set at the Coliseum. The cross-bay rivals play in San Francisco on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mike Kickham (0-1) recorded just seven outs in a forgettable big league debut for the Giants. The 24-year-old left-hander out of Missouri State was touched for four runs on four hits and four walks.

"I'm just very grateful for the opportunity and hopefully it goes better next time," Kickham said.

Hunter Pence hit a solo homer off Grant Balfour in the ninth inning and staked Kickham to an early lead with an RBI single in the first, but that proved to be the only hit with runners in scoring position the Giants had all night.

Norris found the left-field seats in the second inning with Lowrie on first, and Kickham lost control of the strike zone in the third.

Two walks around Yoenis Cespedes' double into the left-field corner loaded the bases for Lowrie, who took a payoff pitch off the plate to force in a run. Nate Freiman added a run-scoring base hit to end Kickham's brief appearance.

Chad Gaudin also walked in a run in the fifth, issuing a four-pitch free pass to Seth Smith to put the A's on top by a 5-1 margin.

Buster Posey hit a run-scoring groundout in the away sixth, and Rosales took Jose Mijares deep in the eighth.

Game Notes

Kickham, the first player from the Giants' 2010 draft class to reach the majors, was called up from Triple-A Fresno before the game ... Cespedes has a 10-game hitting streak ... The Giants have lost seven of their last eight on the road.

Dorm Report: Rooting for the lesser of two evils

I really do try my best not to hate anyone, seeing as how that word can be thrown around rather easily, which is why it was so tough watching the Florida State-Louisville game on Thursday night.
