Recap: Kansas City vs. Arizona

Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - George Kottaras smacked a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Kansas City Royals to an 11-10 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday in spring training action.

Kottaras finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored, while Elliot Johnson stroked a two-run home run and knocked in three overall for the Royals, who also received solo homers from Alex Gordon and Billy Butler.

Kansas City starter Ervin Santana allowed four runs -- two earned -- on seven hits over six innings.

Paul Goldschmidt registered three hits, four RBI and two runs scored, while Miguel Montero smacked a two-run blast and Alfredo Marte added a solo shot for the Diamondbacks.

Arizona starter Randall Delgado gave up six runs on nine hits and four walks over five frames.
