Recap: Texas vs. Arizona

Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - Trevor Cahill struck out 11 in a dominant performance, while Tyler Bortnick had a three-run homer as the Arizona Diamondbacks cruised past the Texas Rangers, 9-3, in spring training action.

Cahill surrendered just one unearned run on four hits over 5 2/3 innings, lowering his ERA to 1.86 for the spring. Garrett Weber went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and two RBI, while also scoring twice in the victory.

Texas reliever Victor Payano took the loss after Arizona scored four runs in the fifth inning. Only one was earned, though he gave up two hits and walked two in one-third of an inning.

Jake Skole and Tomas Telis each had an RBI in defeat.
